To support the community outreach efforts of the FBI by encouraging the development, growth, and effectiveness of the chapters; and,
To serve as the official governing body, interface and liaison between FBI Headquarters and the chapters.
The Citizens Academy partners with several branched of the FBI along with other neighboring state's Citizens Academy.
In 1995, the Philadelphia Division became the second major field office to host an FBI Citizens Academy. Each year the FBI selects about twenty-five representatives from various community, civic and faith-based organizations, and leaders from the business community, local media outlets, and educational, medical and cultural organizations among others to participate in this fascinating eight-session program.
